About 10,000 years ago the last Ice Age finally ended. The climate soon came to resemble our own climate today, providing a sound platform for human development. Rather than moving about, man now began shaping his own environment to meet his needs. Humankind is now living in a new millennium world, of accelerated change, unimaginable possibilities and complex uncertainties. Taking us on a cinematic odyssey into the far reaches of an unearthly yet familiar world, giving exclusive access to familiar as well as rarely seen places, fascinating events and characters, project 2O-22 explores the world of the posthumans and the epoch that is the anthropocene. Having been shot over a 5-year period with a classic motion picture technology (Kodak's celluloid), project 2O-22 is composed of a series of films. As the first movement of a cinematic symphony and as the first film released by the project, 2O-22: ALPHA (2015, 34min) delivers, with its dense visual narrative, a kaleidoscopic cinematic journey into the world of the posthumans. Being nonverbal, the film transcends the human language to offer a pure-cinematic and sensorial experience beyond verbal information.
